Kim Richardson is an established artist who specialises in watercolours. She is most comfortable with still life, floral and animal imagery. Kim enjoys working with traditional still life compositions as this allows her to set the scene and control the subjects. In contrast to this, her close-up studies of wild life and nature are more creative, illustrative designs.

The original works are large-scale pieces, but many are also reproduced as limited edition prints. Tragically, in 1998 a fire destroyed Kim's lifetime collection of work and she has spent the past few years rebuilding her portfolio.

Kim combines a bold approach to her work using strong, vibrant colour with a sharp attention to detail. The series of floral studies draw the viewer in to the scene to experience the intimacy of the subject. Kim carefully creates a warmth and depth within these pieces that can stimulate the senses.

Kim has work in private collections in France and the USA.

Kim is an experienced tutor working in adult education as well as providing art classes from her Coventry studio. Classes are available to both beginners and more experienced painters. Kim also offers private tuition, painting holidays and demonstrations to art groups and clubs.

In 2003 Kim has launched her own sets of artist quality watercolour paints and brushes, produced exclusively by Old Holland.
